We are a production company born in the Alps, helping global brands bring their creative visions to life in the most dramatic landscapes on earth.

Our Alpine Roots

At 7 Mountains Productions, we are mountain lovers and seasoned producers with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities the Alps present.

We are specialized in photo, commercial and video shoots. Come with your fashion or car brand and we produce impossibly gorgeous pictures.

We have close ties to equipment rentals and local professionals, like photographers, drone operators, videographers and model agencies. We organize local castings upon request. Our back-up team consists of ski instructors, mountain guides, paragliders and free riders. But we also work with gondola companies, weather stations and mayor´s offices that provide us with the permits. Hotel recommendations? We have been there!

Our team reflects the diversity of the Alpine region, with members from Germany, Switzerland, France, and Italy. We shoot across the entire Alps and carry them in our hearts. The Alps are more than peaks and snow; they’re a rich tapestry of wilderness, culture, and history.

Frequently Asked Questions for shoots in the Alps

Got a question about filming in the Alps/Chamonix? Here are answers to the most common questions we get from production teams and clients.

Is it safe to produce on glaciers?

During shoots we stay on safe paths and platform. In addition we work with local mountain guides, that supply harnesses and ropes when necessary.

Is there snow 365 days a year on a glacier?

All the glaciers have snow year around. Even though they loose some height each year, some are able to recover in the winter time. One will see more crevasses in the summer and the color of the snow varies after June.

Do you produce in real ski resorts?

We produce in all major ski resorts, glacier shoots are mainly for summer or late spring or autumn productions. Our producers are mainly ski and mountain guides.

Do you have chalets?

7 Mountains relies on a broad roster of chalets throughout the Alps.

Could you make artificial snow?

We work with an SFX specialist who caters to film and TV productions. We have a 10 year record of producing artificial snow.

How could you adjust to changing weather?

Sometimes there is a weather divide between mountains. A good example is the Mont Blanc, with it´s access from both Italy and France. Often when the weather is not good on the French side, it´s good on the Italian side and vice versa. Many valleys and mountains in the Alps and in Patagonia have a micro climate.

Does 7 Mountains cover the entire Alps?

The Alps are a single geographical entity. Their boundaries are fluid and continuous. We speak all four major Alpine languages, with the sole exception of Slovenian. We have known and traveled the Alps since the 1980s. Over the years some regions and some glaciers have proven to be very shoot friendly. Ask our production staff for advice.

Where do you provide mountain shoot knowledge in Latin America?

We have an office in Buenos Aires and have carried out productions on both sides of Patagonia, in Chile and Argentina. Namely Bariloche, El Calafate, San Martin de los Andes, Portillo and many more.

Do you do Castings?

Yes, we do amateur castings in the region where the clients want to work. We are in touch with the bigger model agencies in the bigger cities across the Alps and beyond. We also have athletes like skiers or snowboarders, climbers and paragliders.
